When is it possible to check in and out?

This depends on the type of accommodation you are staying in:

  • Accommodations: Check-in from 16:00 until 20:00, check-out before 10:00. During the months of July and August, it is only possible to arrive and leave on Fridays. 
  • Pitches: Check-in from 14:00 until 20:00, check-out by 12:00. 
    If you would like to arrive later or earlier, we ask you to let us know by e-mail or telephone. We will then look at the possibilities to help you.

Are pets allowed?

Guests staying at the campsite are allowed to bring one dog during their stay. We understand that your pet is a valuable part of your holiday experience, and we look forward to welcoming both you and your pet.

For visitors who are not spending the night at the campsite, we kindly ask that you do not bring your pet. Dit om de rust van onze gasten te respecteren. This is to respect the peace and quiet of our guests. For the safety of all guests, especially children playing, we kindly ask that you keep your dog on a leash during your stay. In this way, we can create an environment where everyone can enjoy a carefree holiday.

How far is the campsite from the beach?

Camping 't Massenhof is just one and a half kilometres from the sea and beach. There is also a useful shortcut via 'Domein de Grasduinen' to get to the coast faster on foot or by bike.

Are there shops and (super)markets near the campsite?

There are two supermarkets in the street (Colruyt and Aldi) and 1 kilometre away, there is a bakery and also a butcher's shop. For fresh fruit and vegetables, visit the Fruithoeve, also located in Zandstraat.

Don't forget to explore the local night markets and markets for an authentic experience:

  • In Bredene on Tuesdays on the Market Square from 8am till noon.
  • In De Haan on Wednesdays in the city centre from 8am until 12.30pm.
  • In Ostend on Thursdays at Wapenplein, Groentenmarkt and Mijnplein from 8am until 12.30pm. In Ostend, there is also a weekly coastal market on Saturdays.

Are there any activities at the campsite?

Yes, there are various activities on the campsite. Besides the many sports and playing facilities, there is also a collaboration with Park d'heule for all kinds of activities. From the Easter holidays until the end of the summer holidays, there is a programme of activities ranging from a visit from the Easter Bunny, creative craft afternoons to various bouncy castles. Check the activity schedule in reception or visit our website for an up-to-date overview.
Together with Park d'heule, a cycling club has also been set up; one or more rides are organised every weekend. The petanque club 'Massenheule' regularly organises a competition or tournament.

Can I charge my electric vehicle at the campsite?

It is possible to charge your electric vehicle on the campsite. Four charging points are provided in a central location on the campsite, next to the sanitary building. The charging stations are from EVBox, which makes it possible to charge with many charging cards. The charging stations have a charging capacity of 22kW per socket.

Can I rent a bike on the campsite?

Bike rental is available on the campsite through our neighbours Park d'heule. In Bredene, bike hire is also available from 'Rijwielen Heidi Pinte' or 'Ken's Fietsen Service'.

Is the campsite far from Ostend?

No, camping 't Massenhof is just a small distance from Ostend. You can be in the centre of Ostend in 15 minutes or 6 km by bike. You can also easily reach Ostend with the coastal tram. Coming by car? Then we recommend taking a peripheral car park and continuing on foot. 

Is the campsite close to Bruges?

The best way to get from the campsite to Bruges is by bike. The ride is about 20 kilometres and takes you along the water through a beautiful polder landscape to the heart of Bruges. From the Blauwe Sluis in Bredene, you follow the Ghent-Bruges-Ostend canal to Scheepsdalebrug and then through the Ezelpoort to the centre of Bruges. 

Not a fan of cycling? No problem at all! There is a direct train connection to Bruges via Ostend station (easily reached by the Coastal Tram from Bredene). Depending on age, the price can vary from 10-20 euros. In about 45 minutes you can get from Bredene to Bruges by public transport.

By car, it takes 25 minutes to get to one of the many peripheral car parks around Bruges. All peripheral car parks can be found on the Bruges city website.

Is the campsite open all year round?

We are open all year round. For campers, there are even paved pitches available all year round. You can always check availability via the search and book function on our website.
